Pac-Man chomps on XBLA
Get ready…get set…starting chomping on those white little dots and gobblin’ on ghosts all over again as Namco’s Pac-Man comes racing to the Marketplace.
Arcade Wednesdays are still sweeping the XBLA audience! So prepare yourselves later tonight around 1AM PDT for your favorite yellow eating machine!
Also of note, a supposed list from OXM in UK has popped up with a new schedule of Arcade Wednesday releases (point price has yet to be announced and this list has not been confirmed by Microsoft):
- August 16: Texas Hold ‘Em
- August 23: Time Pilot
- August 30: Scramble (not Scrabble)
- September 06: Lumines Live!

I still don’t understand the big deal about this “Arcade” thing. What’s the point of having a so called “Next Gen system” if your going to play old school games? That’s like owning a CD player but you still buying cassette tapes. I’m not hating or nothing just don’t get it..

well most of them are redone in HD. come through this weekend and i’ll show you how they’ve recreated some of them.

I have had plenty of fun re-living many of the old games. For 5 bucks… why not!

I just checked out the Wikipedia link Kyd posted. Thank you Kyd. I am soooooo excited. One of my all time favorite games is coming out this winter to XBLA (Castlevania Symphony of the Night). I haven’t played it in a very long time but looking at the screen-shots on the link brought back many happy memories. I never actually completed the game so this may be my chance. With all that is due out I think I am going to add a bunch of MS point cards to my Christmas wish list!

Man, I really want Dig-Dug and Sonic. I hope they are 400. I’m pretty sure they will milk sonic just like street fighter and make it 800.

I cant wait, I should have bought Galga and Pac-Man instead of Street Fighter 2. But oh well. I’ll just get a bunch of MS points and buy all the arcade games I can get.
P.S. If I take my HD over to my friends 360 can I play all my Arcade games?

Brass… you don’t have to take your HD if you have a memory card. Just copy your gamer profile over to the memory card, tell you friend to download the arcade games to his own hd (or you can actually fit most of the XBLA games on your card individually – that is a requirement for being an XBLA game that they fit on the 64MB card). When you get to your friend’s house if he has downloaded the game or you copy it back from your memory card. You will be able to play the full version while you have you card in his 360. As soon as you pull the card your friend will still have the trial but maybe after playing the full version your friend might want to buy it himself.
Keep in mind that your friend will not be able to get achievements without buying the game himself. You will have to play under your gamer profile if you take your card or your HD.
