XBLA Wednesday – Up Next Cloning Clyde

Cloning Clyde

There I sat…midnight CST…waiting for the next release in the XBLA Wednesdays event.  Then I realized…it won’t be released until 2AM CST.  I went to bed.  I woke up this morning though and went straight to the new Arcade releases and there it was…Cloning Clyde!  I popped in my Wahoo code (thx to the team for this!) and began downloading.  I played through the first training level and I immediately knew that I had found my next Arcade addiction.

I figured I’d post a small bit about Cloning Clyde to help you get ready!  (stay tuned for a review of this Arcade title as well as a developer interview)

The full game lets you save your progress (including unlocked Achievements and gamer pictures), and includes:

  • Explore a visually compelling world filled with hilarious action and crazy adventure as you struggle to escape the clutches of the evil company Dupliclone, Inc.
  • Play as a variety of mutant Clydes, each with unique abilities, including Chicken-Clyde, Frog-Clyde, Sheep-Clyde and more.
  • 2 simultaneous players cooperating on a single console. Up to 4 players battling it out in versus mode on a single console for great parties and family play.
  • Solve exciting and addictive puzzles with a variety of resolutions.
  • Play not only as one character but also switch between hundreds of clones.
  • Hours of fun with 2 distinct game modes including 40 cooperative levels and 6 versus arenas.
  • Play online in groups up to 4 players.

  1. I loved their Outpost Kaloki X offering…right up until it was discovered that the game was badly bugged and didn’t allow all the achievements to be awarded. I like the look of this game but I’m not going to trust a company that 8 months later still has not patched their previous offering.

  2. well i’ll offer up some insight on it…i’ll ask if that’s planned and if CC has an achievement bug.

  3. I’ll save you the trouble…

    “Haha…

I apologize for (a) the delay, and (b) the lack of communication from us on this issue. Also, don’t get too excited, it will definitely be a while, and we can’t promise a date. More testing and certification and whatnot… ”

Thats the official line from NinjaBee as of 7/13.

  4. official statments are cool ;) lol

  5. LOL…although in the end they say the same things (nothing). I\’d much rather see a statement like that than the excuse du jour from Major Nelson.

Thats ok there\’s a new word recently coined \”hrybaganda\”. Listed on Urban Dictionary and hopefully soon on Wikipedia.

I predict it will be a smashing success and enter the regular Xbox user\’s vocabulary soon! :)

  6. just don’t pass up at least trying the trial of Cloning Clyde because of the Outpost thing…the last arcade game i used points on was Marble Blast….that will show you that i just don’t go bonanza in the Arcade…and i think CC is worth the points.

  7. I don’t demo Arcade games because the icon stays in your gamertag forever.

I have no problem buying points, bought about 5600 so far. I somehow doubt I’ll ever be lucky enough (or kiss enough ass) to get any free. ;)

    Besides…next week…Galaga! :):):)

  8. man…that’s a lot of points. wait a minute…you can kiss ass for free points?? who’s ass…i’m kissin’ it LOL

    j/k

    Galaga? i’ll pass.

  9. Even worse than the icon for Arcade Demos showing up is the fact that it counts against your completion percentage stats. Thats pretty bogus.

  10. i’m not into that percentage stuff that people get into..but i do know what you’re talking about..the 0/1000 or whatever games played and % of achievements achieved…i don’t pay any attention to it though lol

  11. Cloning chicken-heads? Now there’s an idea!

  12. I have the demo, I’ve gone through all of it, and I’m almost at the point of buying it. I’m just not completely sure. How is the multiplayer Deacon (or anyone else)? Because if it is good, it will definitely be enough for a purchase.

  13. i’ll try the multi tonight. i’ve heard good things on it…pretty simple 4 player action.

  14. I was playing Co-op this morning. Alot of fun!!

  15. Ok, I think I’m going to get it. Sounds like a fun game overall. :)

  16. yep it was the only Arcade title i was waiting for on this Arcade Wed bonanza…it’s original. not a rehash.

  17. Sorry for being a bit off topic but today I found the screen cap of the actual post that got me my now infamious 150 year ban. It can be seen here:

A good lead-up to hopefully when Deacon and I can have our interview.

  18. i tried the free trial and absolutely loved the game, it was so simple and fun to play. unfortunately, i’m saving 900 points that i have on my account for street fighter. great game tho, i can’t wait for the interview, keep up the good work deaconblade.

  19. Excellent work Deacon! This site is quickly becomeing one of my regular haunts….!

  20. that’s always what i want to hear Bert…make sure you check out the Cloning Clyde Developer Interview ;)

  21. I have that beat…

In addition to being one of my favorite sites I was kicked off another site (sandboxgamer.com) for saying I was going to leave them once this place took off.

    Too funny!

  22. lol Harp…the interweb is your friend.

  23. how do you save in this game??

  24. you don’t have an option to save..the game just continues you from when you last left off each time you pick up and play :)
