Test Drive Unlimited Demo in August?
What would a community be without speculation right? Well there has been word running around the Xbox 360 community of a new TDU demo headed to the Marketplace this August. If you remember during E3, reactions were mixed from playing the TDU demo then….so is this new demo a strategy to correct some issues and to give gamers a better idea of TDU?
The news ofcourse originated from Atari’s TDU Europe forums and an apparent member of the TDU design team. Some things to note about the new demo reported by Vibroboy:
- free ride mode and instant challenge between players works
- new vehicles to drive
- timer changed
- not a PC demo, only an Xbox 360 demo
- no release date is known

I’ll check it out but Forza will be what I settle on. The addition of the MS Steering Wheel will be just in time.

Well if Vibroboy said that it is coming, I would take this as total truth (he is a dev).

According to the recent Atari TD event in the Uk ( held at a race track in B’ham i think), A spokesperson there said a new demo of the current retail version of TD:U is gonna be released. The overall reaction from fans, and those wh hated the demo, was that the version available at that event was awesome. Basically, it controlled completely different to the demo out.

[...] Not long ago, U360 posted that a new TDU demo was planned for the Xbox Live Marketplace this month. Citing some credible sources, it sure seemed like that news was right on target. [...]

I really enjoyed the TDU demo and have put several hours into it with friends. I was so happy I pre-ordered the game. I was very happy to see the price was only $39.99.
