Showcase – Sirius389
A few of you wondered and suggested that U360 do these, so I ventured out and grabbed a few gamers who were ready and willing.
I’ll try to incorporate a good managing system to keep these easily tracked but in the meantime, to get to them they’ll be listed under Unscripted 360 Showcases in the Category list.
I have some cool people lined up…so I hope you all enjoy these showcases.
Up first…perhaps the baddest female gamer on the Xbox 360!
Thanks for being the first to usher in the U360 Showcases. Tell us exactly how serious you are? Give us the scoop on the person behind that serious tag.
Oh I’m deadly serious. Just kidding. My name is Nicole, I live in New Jersey. I’m 15 years old. Ok basics are out of the way. I’ve been gaming ever since I can remember, my brother got me started when I was really little, I can’t even remember the first game I played, but when I started I was instantly hooked. I have owned just about every console, but when the 360 came out I got rid of them all, stupid yes, do I regret doing that? No not really. Hmm, besides gaming my other passion is sports, I’m really into snowboarding, basketball, well mostly extreme sports, I skateboard in the summer, I like to be active. Theres three things I love to do. 1. play video games, 2. some sort of sport, and 3. shop.
I had a feeling shopping would be in there.
How did your gamertag come about?
I don’t really know, I wanted something that wouldn’t identify me immediately as being a girl, but now with my motto (GamerchiX) it doesn’t matter much. But my gamertag has nothing to do with the satellite radio, Sirius. I wanted it to be original, so I tried my best to do so. The number 389 is just a random number I picked a long time ago and I put it in all of my screennames wherever I register on the internet. It doesn’t mean anything, really. When I started my account I literally sat here for about 45 minutes thinking of what I should make my gamertag. I had one before but I got alot of negative feedback so I figured I’d start off with a clean slate. So that’s what I did.
Hey I knew it wasn’t a Sirius satellite plug.
How often do you game? Online or off?
I game almost everyday, online and off, it depends on the game I’m playing. I have a life, don’t get me wrong. I just like to play video games, and I’m kind of stuck home in the summer as it is with my parents work. We don’t get to go on vacation as much as we’d like to, but I’m cool with it because I’m not much of a summer person anyway. I was born in the winter, hence me liking to snowboard so much. lol
Is there any particular reason you cheered Italy on in the World Cup?
I’m Italian. Kind of says it all right there, lol. But I watched all of the games Italy was in and I was cheering for them the whole way. I’m stoked that they won. I just wish Zidane hadn’t headbutted Materazzi towards the end. Other than that it was a good game.
Yeah headbutts are a big no-no. You’re part of the GamerchiX program started by Xbox’s own TriXie. What do you think of being in GamerchiX?
I think that being apart of GamerchiX is great. It gives girls the chance to play with or against other girls on Xbox Live. I for one was really excited about it since I wouldn’t have to constantly play with guys. I have nothing against guys on Xbox Live, most of them are really great. I have about 70-75 awesome guys on my friends list that respect the fact that I’m a girl gamer and don’t get upset when I beat them, or if they beat me I won’t get upset, because it comes down to the fact that it is just a game. Unless it’s a
tourney, then I’ll get upset.
A lot of feedback both positive and negative have been said about GamerchiX and female gamers in general. How do you respond to it?
Well my first action is negative feedback to the person doing the talking. I think it’s just stupid to say something bad about a female gamer. But a good way to get back at the guy talking smack is to kick his ass in whatever game, he’ll shut up then…well at least it works for me.
Nothing like a righteous ass kickin’! Your gamerscore it seems would kill a lot of that negative talk. Are you the highest gamerscore girl gamer around?
Yeah, I guess it does kill some of it, but not all of it. I don’t really know if I am the highest, but if I am that’s awesome.
Does your gamerscore say anything about how often you game? Or are you just that damn good?
I guess it’s a bit of both, but moreso me being so damn good.
lol
The humbleness oozes doesn’t it.
Gamerscore or Achievements? Or both?
Both. It’s hard to choose between the two.
What’s been the best moment in your 360 experience?
Hmmm, the best moment, I don’t have one that tops all, but beating G.R.A.W. on hard was really great, also very difficult.
Shame I haven’t even finished that game. Any must have title that you have your eyes on?
Oh yes, definitely, I can give you an entire list of games I’m going to be getting as soon as they are out. Add in there all of the sports games too.
- Saints Row
- Test Drive: Unlimited
- Tony Hawk’s Project 8
- Grand Theft Auto IV
- Def Jam
- 2 Days to Vegas
- Splinter Cell
- The Godfather
- Forza Motorsport 2
- Need for Speed Carbon
- Call of Duty 3
- Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball 2
- Medal of Honor: Airborne
Ouch, that’s a bite out of your pockets. Any title that you’ve played that you’d like to forget?
Definitely. I wish I never played The Outfit. In my eyes it’s THE worst WWII game ever made.
Which title is drawing the most play time from you currently and why?
DOA4, I want to beat time attack and try survival mode. I’m horrible at that game but I’m trying to improve, with time, I’ll be able to beat it.
Live Arcade Wednesdays. Are you pumped for the 80’s and Wednesdays now?
HAHA I wasn’t even here for the 80’s, but I guess it’s pretty cool, I really like the arcade titles that are out and that are coming out. I’ll be on there.
Shame you missed Boy George. A lot of people say the marketplace is flooded with overpriced content. How effective has the marketplace been in your opinion?
The marketplace has been a huge success in my eyes. I know it’s taken alot of my money via marketplace cards. I don’t think it’s that expensive, then again I don’t really know the conversion of points to dollars. I know I’ve downloaded alot of demos, themes, and gamerpictures from the marketplace.
Is there anything that would take you away from your 360?
Unless I got to meet Johnny Depp nothing can really take me away from my 360. I have a 62″ Toshiba DLP my parents gave to me for my 360. I’m not going anywhere unless Johnny is there. lol
Another one bites the Depp. Ok. One game. One shot. You against TriXie. Who wins and what game are you playing?
Me vs. TriXie…hmm, if I had played her in Table Tennis on Monday I’d have an answer for you, but I’ll still say. I win.
TriXie is awesome though.
What’s next for the most serious of the GamerchiX?
I’m not really sure, I might become an Xbox Live Ambassador, which would be really great. I would love to help anyone who is starting out on Xbox Live. Other than that I don’t know.
Great showcase Nicole! Thanks for being a part of it and sharing a bit about yourself to the world!
