I think everyone likes to see the "Achievement Unlocked" popup, but most people aren't obsessed with increasing their gamerscore. I don't have a great gs (around 2,000), and I just like having it as a way to track your progress, not as a way to brag to other gamers.

I'm fine with the online achievements as long as they are realistic. Being "ranked #1 in the World" and such is not realistic.

I guess a proper balance with easy and hard is best..but then I don't expect them to find that balance anytime soon. One thing I hope doesn't get too out of hand is a game with far too many multiplayer achievements. I game on Xbox Live but it's not as much as some people. So I hope that they don't begin to produce more online achievements than offline...because offline is where I game the most.

Well thought out achievments are great, and increase the replay value. Acheivements that are next to impossible (like leaderboard Acheivments) just motivate people to cheat and boost. Ones that are too easy can also make gamerscore more of a joke.

Hate when people brag about it, but I love just to play DOA 4 and suddenly boom! Achievement... Im always like "I wonder what it is!, I haven't even been doing good lately" Just to my dissapointment finding out it is a 10 losses in a row :( award, lol. Other than that I find them to be a fun new spin to the gaming world.

Depending on what game your playing, achievement would be more important than gamerscore or vise versa. For example, if I'm playing a sports game gamerscore would be more important but if i'm playing a
role playing game then achievement would be more important because
I'm trying to finish the game.

To me, I think gamerscores are used more as a bragging right for that person to say they're the best.

I think the addition of gamerscores was a great idea! I find myself doing alot more things in games than I would have before attempting to get the extra achievements. I think regardless of what people think about them seeing somebodies gamerscore lets you know who you're dealing with. While there is a HUGE disparity in the difficulty of the achievements a higher score still indicates that somebody has put more time in and is better qualified to comment on certain issues.

I understand that to some gamerscore is meaningless and to those people I say to each their own. Gamerscore only means what you want it to. There is no prize to be won or lost.
